Joel Donohue, General Manager of American Friction Welding, is pleased to announce that they are ISO 9001:2000 certified.
In order to receive this certification, Joel and his team had to lay the ground work for a manufacturing road map; implement a business plan that met the auditing standards set forth by the ISO Standard. “We outlined a plan and thoroughly went through each step of our process to ensure the corrective and preventative measures were in place to meet this goal”, says Joel. “It took years of preparation and implementation, but it is worth the effort.”
Part of the management plan was to ensure the process: design and engineering of a custom component, the acquisition of quality material, the craftsmanship of a friction weld, the implementation of quality control standards, inspection of the pieces and inventory control.
Joel and his team’s drive is to build a level of confidence to attract new business in the industries they serve: Oil & Gas, Food & Chemical, Automotive, Construction, Agricultural and Electric Utility Equipment. “. “We want to continue to maintain our leadership role in the friction welding industry across all the services we offer.”
